CHECKLIST

I know
my full name and my parents' full names (first, middle and last).
I know
my whole address including city, state, and zip code.
I know my phone number including area code.
I know
how to dial “911” and “0” for emergencies. I know that I can use any phone to call “911” and “0” without using any money.

I know who to call or go to when my parents are not with me and I need help.

When I am home alone, I know never to answer the door or the telephone. I know to keep all the doors and windows locked. I know that there is always a list of emergency numbers by the telephone that I can call if I get scared or need help.

If I arrive home and see that any window or door is open or broken, I know not to go in. I know to go to a trusted neighbor.

I know to always let my parents or childcare person know where I am going.
I know
to always play and walk in groups, I always practice the “BUDDY SYSTEM”.
I know
to walk towards traffic so that I can see if a car stops near me.
I know never to take short cuts because they can be dangerous.

If anyone asks me to come into their house or to go somewhere with them, I know to ask my mom or dad first.

I know
never to talk to anyone that approaches me in a car,
I know
to run in the opposite direction.

If a stranger is following me, instead of hiding in bushes or behind a building, I know to run to a place where there are people and ask for help.

I know
to never accept candy, food, money, or anything from anyone unless mom or dad say it is all right.
I know never to anywhere with anyone who asks me for help with directions or to find their lost pet.

I know the secret password and I never tell anyone what it is. I know not to get into a car with anyone if they don't know the password, no matter what story they tell me.

I know the difference between a “good touch” and a “bad touch” and that certain parts of my body are very private.

I know to tell mom or dad about any “bad touches”.

I know I have the right to say “NO” and to get help.

I know that if an adult tells me to keep a secret that makes me feel uncomfortable, I should tell mom or dad.

I know
that if I get separated from my parents in a store or shopping mall I should not wander around looking for them, but I will go to the checkout counter, security office, or lost and found and tell the person in charge that I need help.

I know
my 4 rules if I find myself in a dangerous situation:
SAY NO! YELL & SCREAM! RUN! TELL SOMEONE!

I know not to keep secrets from my parents. I will always tell my parents the truth.
I know my parents love me and they will listen and help me.
